Use of Plans in the Exchange:
Each company who is a member is allowed two representatives to use the Exchange. If additional employees need access to the Exchange it must be cleared through the Exchange Office. Members are not to bring in employees of other companies. Representatives must sign the register for the plan they wish to use. Time out and in must be noted. Plans are to remain in the Exchange during office hours. Plans may be used for four hours by any one member. This time may be extended if there is no one waiting. A member may not use more than one set of plans at a time. Plans are not to be marked on or defaced in any way.
Use of Web Site:
Although it is the intent of the Exchange to provide the most current and accurate information, the Salem Contractors Exchange does not assume responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions contained on the web site. Addenda posted in this electronic format is for member review of written text only. Reduced size drawings may be available but, if posted, are not ensured to be complete, downloadable, legible, or scaleable. No full size addendum drawings will be included in these postings. Complete addenda may be reviewed at the Exchange office. All advertising shall be limited to five (5) square inches and shall be permitted only as space allows, as deemed beneficial and appropriate for the local membership, and pertaining to construction related businesses. Advertisements will be subject to review by the board of directors. Salem Contractors Exchange does not warrant advertisements posted on the web site for accuracy, content, results, or exposure to viewing.
Overnight Checkout of Plans:
Members may reserve a plan for overnight by signing the night book located on the front desk. The plan may leave the Exchange Monday through Friday at 4:00 p.m., and must be back in the Exchange by 8:30 a.m. the following morning. They may be picked up Saturday noon and returned Monday morning by 8:30 a.m. Only one plan per night is to be checked out by a member. The same plan may not be checked out for two consecutive nights by one member. Plans are to remain in the Exchange the weekend before the bid date and the last two days and nights before the bid date.
TAKING PLANS OUT OF THE EXCHANGE WITHOUT PROPER CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES COULD LEAD TO AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION.
Exchange Keys:
An access key to the Exchange is available to a member wishing to use the facility after office hours and on weekends. A deposit of $25 is required and is refunded only on return of the key. The key of a member who has not renewed his dues by February 1 will be blocked from access into the Exchange. Keys are to be used only by the representatives of the company paying the deposit and annual dues.
Use of Telephone:
Telephones in the Exchange are for the use of Members in making local, credit card and collect calls.
Blueprint and Specification Copies:
Copy machines are available to members for making prints of individual blueprint sheets or specifications copies. Request for copies of prints in the Exchange will be filled as time allows depending on work schedules in the office. Members are given a 25% discount for making their own blueprint copies.
